Option B - Project / refit or rebuild
Summary
- Fastest path to "floating platform", but can be the slowest path to "reliable and finished".
- Success depends on donor selection, survey quality, and controlling scope.
Donor selection filters (first pass)
- Hard constraints: draft/beam/clearance/interior height feasibility.
- Structural integrity and moisture history.
- Engine hours and access for service.
- Existing electrical condition (wiring quality, corrosion, panel standards).
- Layout feasibility for king owner's suite + required heads/showers.
Refit scope buckets (to estimate later)
- Structural repairs: hull/deck core, bulkheads, chainplates, bridge deck.
- Propulsion: engines, saildrives/shafts, exhaust, cooling, fuel system.
- Electrical: new generation/storage/distribution; safety and labeling.
- Plumbing: watermaker, tanks, pumps, heads/holding.
- Rigging and sails: standing and running rigging replacement cycles.
- Safety and compliance: fire suppression, life raft, EPIRB, lighting.
